Mediterranean diet smoothies are one I prefer when having an early morning run. You might neglect your needs as a busy person and forget to care for yourself. 

Therefore, around a month ago, I made the decision to start eating a healthy diet.

Why Is It called the "Mediterranean Diet"?

Yeah! I really wish to lose some weight and keep my BMI index at a healthy level. That was why I began to look for easy recipes to make.

Due to their distinctive eating habits, Mediterranean countries like Spain, Italy, and France are reputed to have decreased rates of chronic diseases. So this is why the term Mediterranean Diet.

The Mediterranean diet is both an enjoyable and nutritious way of eating. It emphasizes eating a wide range of healthy meals and taking the time to appreciate and savor each dish. 

The experience can be shared with others too. I have introduced this diet to kids apart from their other healthy menus. It's lovable and has good taste. Especially one with apples in it.

Those who are always on Mediterranean diet recipes have excellent health. They also have a lower chance of developing chronic diseases. 

How? Because this is a result of the food they chose. 

The Mediterranean diet includes a wide range of heart-healthy fats, fruits, veggies, whole grains, lentils, nuts, and seeds. It is so easy to make for breakfast and delicious too. It helps with weight loss too.

You may think about any flavor you like. The important is to add fresh fruits and vegetables as the main ingredients. For me, I prefer to add any source of protein to make it feel fuller.  

Usually, I use non-GMO soy protein. Surprisingly, it'll make the smoothie creamier and tastier too. 

1- Apple With Protein Smoothie

Apple smoothie with soy protein is really bliss to taste buds. I also add a spoon of honey and you may opt for a sprinkle of cinnamon powder. 

  • 1 large Apple (peeled and chopped into small cubes)
  • 1/2 cup milk (I prefer low-fat milk)
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • A dash of ground Cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 cup ice cubes

Blend all the ingredients to be smooth. Pour the prepared smoothie into a serving glass and sprinkle cinnamon over it. But if you don't like the strong taste of cinnamon, you may choose to not add it.

2- Mango Creamsicle Smoothie

Mango smoothie contains lots of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that are needed for you to get optimum health.
  • 1 cup chopped mango
  • 1/4 cup rice cauliflower
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened non-dairy milk, unsweetened orange juice or water
  • 1 tablespoon of protein powder 
  • 2 tablespoons of Greek yogurt
  • Ice cubes (optional)

Blend all the ingredients until smooth and creamy. Then it's ready to give an abundance of goodness and great taste. 

3- Strawberry Banana Green Super Smoothie

  • 1 banana (chopped)
  • 1 cup spinach or celery
  • ½ cup of Greek yogurt
  • ½ cup of low-fat milk or non-dairy almond milk
  • 6 strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon of chia seed
  • Ice cubes

Put all ingredients in a blender and make it smooth. Some people prefer to make a smoothie from frozen fruits which give a chilly and distinguished taste. 

Somehow, I love to use fresh fruit. And to make it cool, I will put ice cubes and mix them with the ingredients. 

Mediterranean Diet Smoothie Key Ingredients

  • Green including any veggies you prefer such as kale, spinach, and celery as well as cucumber
  • Fruits like bananas, berries, apples, mango, watermelon, and any kind you love
  • Proteins such as soy protein, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, or whey protein
  • Liquid as simple as water, milk, and non-dairy milk such as almond milk
  • Additional ingredients like ice cubes, healthy fats (avocado, chia seeds, peanut butter, or spices like cinnamon and vanilla)

Protein plays an important role in the human body as it helps build muscles and prevents their loss. Additionally, it suppresses hunger and aids in cell regeneration. 

As a result, you can choose the sort of protein you wish to include in advance.

Moreover, separating the fruit into many freezer bags before making several batches of smoothies is really a good idea.
